This specimen was lot 1737 in Goldberg sale 128 (Los Angeles, June 2022), where it sold for $276. The catalog description[1] noted, "France. ½ Franc au col plat, 1587-O (Riom). Henri III, 1574-1589. Laureate head right in high collar, mint mark below. Reverse: Fl[eu]r-de-lys cross, H in center. Toned. The only example graded at PCGS. PCGS graded AU-50." Sombart[2] reports sixteen known in his survey, making this a common date. It is the only date from Riom that is not very rare. The demi-franc had a face value of 10 sols tournois.

Recorded mintage: 148,039[2].
