Ponterio sale 165, lot 21162

Fengtien (now Lioaning) Province lies north and west of North Korea, and east of Beijing. The provincial mint operated from 1897-1931. The specimen shown was lot 21162 in the Ponterio sale 165 (Hong Kong, April 2012), where it sold for $7,170. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Fengtien. Dollar, Year 25 (1899). NGC AU Details--Surface Hairlines. Toned."
