Ponterio sale 165, lot 21152

Fengtien (now Lioaning) Province lies north and west of North Korea, and east of Beijing. The provincial mint operated from 1897-1931.

The specimen shown was lot 21152 in the Ponterio sale 165 (Hong Kong, April 2012), where it sold for $3,884. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Fengtien. 50 Cents, Year 24 (1898). PCGS AU-50. Wide mouth dragon."
