El Salvador 1977 50 centavos

This specimen was struck for El Salvador by the Royal Mint of London in 1970 and 1977. Paradoxically, this coin has such a low catalog value that it is difficult to find. Dealers do not find it worthwhile to stock such items. This coin bears the portrait of José Matias Delgado, hero of the struggle for independence from Guatemala. The denomination has not been struck since.

Recorded mintage: 1,500,000.
