This specimen was lot 23753 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $1,028.13. The catalog description[1] noted, "Arab Republic gold 100 Pounds 1986, Proof 69 Ultra Cameo NGC, Tutankhamen." The death mask featured here is one of the treasures from Tutankhamen's tomb. This type is one of a series of commemorative hundred pound gold coins issued 1983-92.
