Sincona sale 63, lot 19

This specimen was lot 19 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 900 CHF (about US$1,128 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Aegypten, Arabische Republik, seit 1971. 100 Pounds 1987. Goldener Schafbock. Auflage nur 7'500 Exemplare. Polierte Platte. Feine Kratzer. (Arab Republic of Egypt, since 1971, one hundred pounds of 1987, golden ram's head. Only 7'500 pieces minted, Choice Proof, Minor hairlines.)" This type is one of a series of commemorative hundred pound gold coins issued 1983-92. No AH date is present.
