This specimen was lot 23752 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $1,028.13. The catalog description[1] noted, "Arab Republic gold 100 Pounds 1985, Proof 69 Ultra Cameo NGC, The Golden Falcon." The falcon sculpture featured here is one of the treasures from Tutankhamen's tomb. This type is one of a series of commemorative hundred pound gold coins issued 1983-92.
Recorded mintage: 1,800 proofs.
