This specimen was lot 45271 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $125. The catalog description[1] noted, "ECUADOR. Real, 1838-QUITO MV. Quito Mint. PCGS VF-20. From the Jim Brown Collection." This is a rare date of a somewhat common type struck 1836-41. Three assayers are noted for 1838: MV, ST and FP.
