This specimen was lot 29335 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $1,175. The catalog description[1] noted, "Christian IX Proof Krone 1875-(h) HC/CS PR64 NGC. A rarely encountered proof issue with lightly toned, mirrored-fields that promote the coin's frosty devices. Scarce and highly appealing as such. From The Law Collection." This type was struck 1875-76 and 1892 for Christian IX (1863-1906) as king of Denmark. It was part of the decimal reform instituted in 1874. This issue is not rare but is much less often seen than the commemorative two kroner.

Specification: 7.5 g, 0.800 fine silver, .192 troy oz ASW.
