Sincona sale 57, lot 2550

This specimen was lot 2550 in Sincona sale 57 (Zürich, May 2019), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$298 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Denmark, Friedrich III. 1648-1670. 4 Mark 1666, Kopenhagen. Sehr schön. Feine Patina. (kingdom of Denmark, Frederick III, 1648-70, four mark of 1666, Copenhagen mint. Very fine, Nice toning.)"

This type is noted for 1666 and is one of several kroner (Dav-3579, -3579A, Dav-3580, -3580A, Dav-3581 and -3581A) issued that year. None are common.

Specification: 22.27 g, .671 fine silver, this specimen 21.56 g.
