This specimen was lot 1083 in Stack's Bowers sale of the L. E. Bruun Collection (Copenhagen, September 2024), where it sold for €18,000 (about US$19,948 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Nicely Detailed and Lightly Circulated 2 Speciedaler, DENMARK. 2 Speciedaler, 1665. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik III. NGC AU Details--Cleaned. Mintmaster: Frederik Caspar Herbach (FCH). Engraver: Jeremias Hercules. Albeit at some point possibly lightly cleaned, a superb and nicely retoned example of this EXCESSIVELY RARE and beautiful Double Speciedaler. Ex: Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale - 1922)."

This rare type accompanied a half speciedaler (KM 260), single speciedaler (Dav-3553) and triple speciedaler (Dav-3552A).

Specification: 57.55 g, 0.875 fine silver, this specimen 56.38 g.
