The first specimen was lot 10034 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €2,280 (about US$2,377). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 4 Skilling, 1532. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik I. NGC EF-45. Excellent detailing and delightfully toned. Scholars and collectors have argued about the denomination of this coin for hundreds of years. More recent books, such as Sieg and Galster, call it an 8 Skilling, while Schou (and therefore Bruun) calls it a 4 Skilling. There are valid arguments for both but we have decided to remain faithful to Bruun and are designating it as a 4 Skilling. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." The second specimen was lot 10036 in the same sale, where it sold for €840 (about US$876). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 4 Skilling, ND (c. 1532). Malmö Mint. Frederik I. NGC EF-45. Extraordinary condition for type. Scholars and collectors have argued about the denomination of this coin for hundreds of years. More recent books, such as Sieg and Galster, calls it an 8 Skilling, while Schou (and therefore Bruun) calls it a 4 Skilling. There are valid arguments for both but we have decided to be faithful to Bruun and are designating it as a 4 Skilling. From the L. E. Bruun Collection. Ex. Joh. G. Guildal Collection (Private Sale-1918)." At this time one gulden was 48 skilling; the specie daler would not appear until later.

Recorded mintage: unknown.
