This specimen was lot 10046 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €1,020 (about US$1,063). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 2 Mark, 1535. Roskilde Mint. Christian III. NGC AU Details--Cleaned. The city of Roskilde in the center of Zealand was the main city in the island until it was overtaken by Copenhagen, probably in the 1440's. A city with a long minting tradition going back to at least Cnut the Great in the early 11th century, the few coins struck in Roskilde by Christian III were the last to be struck there (for now). From the L. E. Bruun Collection." At this time, one gulden was three mark.
