The first specimen was lot 10051 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €336 (about US$350). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Skilling, 1536. Copenhagen Mint. Christian III. NGC AU-53. Nicely detailed coin. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." The second specimen was lot 10053 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €145 (about US$151). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Gotland. Skilling, 1536. Visby Mint. Christian III. NGC AU-53. From the L. E. Bruun Collection. Ex. Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale - 1922)." At this time one gulden was 48 skilling; the specie daler would not appear until later. The Copenhagen issue was one of the first to depict the king.
