This specimen was lot 10160 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €240 (about US$250). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 6 Skilling Lybsk, 1625. Gluckstadt Mint. Christian IV. NGC VF-30. Scarce single year type. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1625 only. Christian IV (r. 1588-1648), king of Denmark and duke of Schleswig-Holstein, where this was struck, had a long but only moderately successful reign. His war with Sweden and his intervention in the Thirty Years War were costly and brought little gain.
