This specimen was lot 3967 in Goldberg sale 70 (Los Angeles, September 2012), where it sold for $373.75. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Danish West Indies. 40 Cents, 1905. Christian IX. NGC graded AU-55. The Charles Ruby Collection." This one year type is quite scarce.

Recorded mintage: 38,000 plus 20 proofs.
