This specimen was lot 73513 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "DANISH WEST INDIES. 40 Cents (2 Francs), 1907-P GJ. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik VIII. PCGS AU-50. A RARE one year type with only 25,000 minted. Wonderful mottled copper tone enhances otherwise light lilac-gray surfaces on both sides. Appreciable luster remains, though mainly in the protected fields of the reverse. Bound to turn the heads of many specialists, this charming example comes highly recommended." This one year type is rather scarce. The island group was sold to the United States in 1917.

Recorded mintage: 25,000 plus 10 prooflike.

Specification: 10 g, 0.800 fine silver.

Catalog reference: KM-82; Sieg-34.
