This specimen was lot 76704 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $1,080. The catalog description[1] noted, "DANISH WEST INDIES. 5 Cents (25 Bit), 1905-P GJ. Copenhagen Mint. Christian IX. PCGS PROOFLIKE-66. Mintage: 20 (reported). Already an EXTREMELY RARE specimen, this dazzling minor is tied with just one other for the top spot in the PCGS census." This one year type is the only nickel five cents from this locale. The United States purchased the Danish West Indies in 1917 and they are now the U.S. Virgin Islands.
