This specimen was lot 20806 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it sold for $920. The catalog description[1] noted, "Frederik VII 20 Cents 1859, Prooflike 64 NGC, incredibly sharp design features with lovely old-time cabinet patina. Very scarce in this special quality." This type was issued 1858-59 along with one, three, ten and five cent coins. Danish currency endured several "reforms" in the nineteenth century. For the West Indies, the decimal conversion occurred in 1858, with twenty cents = one franc. The Danish West Indies were sold to the United States in 1917.

Recorded mintage: 430,000 plus 10 prooflike specimens.
