This specimen was lot 32895 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $998.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "British Colony. Edward VII 1/4 Piastre 1908 XF45 Brown NGC. The scarcest date of a three year type and seldom encountered in any grade." This three year type, slightly more than a British farthing, is scarce, along with the matching half piastre and one piastre.
Recorded mintage: 36,000.
