This specimen was lot 23694 in Heritage sale 3020 (Long Beach, September 2012), where it sold for $998.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V 18 Piastres 1913, AU50 NGC, deeply toned with considerable frost on the reverse. From The Ted Reams Collection." This silver eighteen piastres was struck during the reign of George V, king of Great Britain 1911-36. Tho denominated in piastres, it is the same size and weight as a British florin of two shillings. The other date, 1921, is more common.

Recorded mintage: 25,000.

Specification: 11.31 g, 0.925 fine silver.
