Sincona sale 38, lot 1656

This specimen was lot 1656 in Sincona sale 38 (Zürich, May 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Carlos IV. 1788-1808 8 Escudos 1789. JJ-Nuevo Reino. Fast vorzüglich. Leicht justiert. (Colombia, Charles IV, 1788-1808, eight escudos of 1789, Nuevo Reino mint. About extremely fine. Minor adjustment marks.)"

This transition type (title of Charles IV, bust of Charles III) was issued 1789-91. Tho no rarer than any other date, the transitional issues always obtain a premium.
