This specimen was lot 70397 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. 10 Yuan, 2003. Lunar Series, Year of the Goat. NGC PROOF-69 ULTRA CAMEO. Scalloped edge. Brilliant with hard mirror fields and frosted cameo devices." The Chinese government has, since the mid 1980's, produced a mind boggling array of bullion related collectibles. A complete set is thousands of types yet buyers clamor for more.
