This specimen was lot 1782 in Goldberg sale 122 (Los Angeles, June 2021), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "China. Platinum 50 Yuan, 2003. Panda standing facing eating bamboo. With certificate. Choice Brilliant Proof." The Chinese government has, since the mid 1980's, produced a mind boggling array of bullion related collectibles. A complete set is thousands of types yet buyers clamor for more. The platinum panda was not a success and was terminated in 2005.

Specification: 1.55 g, 0.999 fine platinum, 14.03 mm diameter. Weight 0.0498 ounce.
