China 2005 10 yuan KM-1614
This specimen was lot 4223 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $70. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA (PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC): AR 10 yuan, 2005, Chinese Zodiac Bullion Series - Year of the Rooster, NGC graded Proof 67 ULTRA CAMEO." The Chinese government has, since the mid 1980's, produced a mind boggling array of bullion related collectibles. A complete set is thousands of types yet buyers clamor for more. The auctioneers misattributed this as KM 1613, which is the round version of this NCLT. Other ten yuan for 2005 included KM 1580, 1589, 1592, 1601, 1603, 1612, 1613, 1615, 1618, 1626, 1628, 1629, 1631, 1636, 1637 and 1639.
Recorded mintage: 60,000 proofs.
Specification: 31.10 g, 0.999 fine silver, 40 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM-1614.
