This specimen was lot 70357 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. 25 Yuan, 2000. Panda Series. NGC MS-68. Frosted Ring. A most popular Frosted Ring 1/4 Panda. Nearly flawless, and graded MS 68 by NGC. .2500 of an ounce of pure gold contained." Mirror and frosted field varieties exist for this date.
