This specimen was lot 33503 in Heritage sale 3082 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "China: People's Republic gold "Small Date" Panda 10 Yuan (1/10 oz) 1998 MS69 PCGS." The Chinese government has, since the mid 1980's, produced a mind boggling array of bullion related collectibles. A complete set is thousands of types yet buyers clamor for more. This one features the panda, one of a series first issued in 1983.

Specification: 3.11 g, 0.999 fine gold, 0.100 troy oz AGW.
