This specimen was lot 1108 in Goldberg Sale 139 (Los Angeles, June 2024), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "China (People's Republic). 10 Yuan, 1998. 1/10 ounce. Vault Protector. Denomination. Reverse: Cash design. Pop 2; None Finer at PCGS. Only 7 graded in total for this Gold Coin. MS-69. Ex Goldberg Sale 42, Sept 24, 2007, lot 710. The Peh Collection Part II." Other ten yuan for 1998 include KM 1036, KM 1126, KM 1127, 1132, 1134, 1136, KM 1137, 1138, 1139, 1148, 1151, 1152, 1154, 1155, 1157, 1161, 1162, 1168, 1174, 1175, 1176, 1196, A1135 and A1179. We don't believe this was ever sold on its own but was included with other sets. It was also struck in silver (KM 1196).

Specification: 3.11 g, 0.999 fine gold, 18 mm diameter, reeded edge.
