This specimen was lot 46299 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Silver 10 Yuan, 1988. Lunar Series, Year of the Dragon. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. Comes with original issue box and certificate of authenticity, number 14291." This is an early NCLT from the communist regime in China. At the beginning, there was little market in China for these and they were not popular in the United States, so the mintages were low. This product of the Shanghai mint is not the only ten yuan struck in 1988 for the Year of the Dragon; the other, KM 193, weighed only 15 grams.

Recorded mintage: 20,000 proofs.

Specification: 31.10 g, 0.999 fine silver, 32 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-A193.
