The first specimen was lot 23542 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $940. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 100 Pesos 1968, Proof 67 Ultra Cameo NGC, 150th anniversary of the National Congress. Heavily frosted devices with deeply mirrored fields." The second specimen was part of lot 29513 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), which sold for $8,225. The catalog description[2] noted, "Republic gold Commemorative Proof Set 1968, Santiago mint, KM185-187. A lot of three coins, as follows: gold 100 Pesos, PR67 Ultra Cameo NGC; gold 200 Pesos, PR65 Ultra Cameo NGC; gold 500 Pesos, PR66 Ultra Cameo NGC. All Gem Proof with highly contrasting fields, the large 500 Pesos piece particularly impressive and very rare as such." This commemorative was struck only in proof.

Specification: 20.34 g, 0.900 fine gold, .588 troy oz AGW.
