This specimen was part of lot 29513 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), which sold for $8,225. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold Commemorative Proof Set 1968, Santiago mint, KM185-187. A lot of three coins, as follows: gold 100 Pesos, PR67 Ultra Cameo NGC; gold 200 Pesos, PR65 Ultra Cameo NGC; gold 500 Pesos, PR66 Ultra Cameo NGC. All Gem Proof with highly contrasting fields, the large 500 Pesos piece particularly impressive and very rare as such." This commemorative was struck only in proof.

Recorded mintage: unknown but few.

Specification: 101.7 g, 0.900 fine gold, 2.32 troy oz AGW.
