This specimen was lot 40804 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHILE. 10 Centavos, 1909-So. Santiago Mint. NGC MS-65." This type was struck 1908-09, 1913 and 1919-20. The minor coinage was subject to frequent manipulations of alloy.
Recorded mintage: 2,964,000 including the 1909/8 overdate.
Specification: 1.50 g, 0.400 fine silver, 17 mm diameter.
