This silver forty centavos piece was minted in Santiago, Chile, in 1907-08. It features the condor design by French engraver Oscar Roty. The 1907 is rare, the 1908 is somewhat scarce. The experiment was not repeated and none of the denomination have been struck since.
Recorded mintage: 56,000.
Specification: 6 g, 0.400 fine silver, .077 troy oz ASW.
