The first specimen was lot 4616 in Goldberg sale 69 (Los Angeles, May, 2012), where it sold for $460. The catalog description [2] noted, "Chile. 50 Centavos, 1903-So. Condor on rock. Lovely toning. NGC graded MS-66. The Judy Cahn Collection." This type was struck 1902-05. It was accompanied by a silver five centavos (KM 155.2), ten centavos (KM 156.2) and a peso (KM 152.2). This specimen realized nine times the catalog value.
Recorded mintage: 1,111,000.
