This specimen was lot 45547 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHILE. 2 Reales, 1792-So Da. Santiago Mint. Charles IV. NGC VG Details--Cleaned. Type with bust of Charles IIII." This specimen is one of a type struck at Santiago 1792-1808. The bust of the deceased Charles III (KM 49) was also used in 1792 and is quite scarce.
Recorded mintage: 14,000 including KM 49.
Specification: 6.77 g, 0.896 fine silver.
