This specimen was lot 72264 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, June 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "CEYLON. 25 Cents, 1919-B. Bombay Mint. PCGS MS-64 Gold Shield. With just one graded finer at PCGS, this stunningly toned minor is sure to delight, featuring a charming cobalt tone as one near the peripheries--especially noted on the reverse." This type was struck 1919-26. The prior type was 0.800 fine silver. Ceylon, famous for tea, attained its independence in 1948 after the British left India and is now known as Sri Lanka.

Recorded mintage: 1,400,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 2.92 g, 0.550 fine silver.
