This specimen was lot 73370 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $110. The catalog description[1] noted, "CEYLON. 10 Cents, 1919-B. Bombay Mint. George V. PCGS MS-65. A boldly struck little Gem with full frosty luster, and a touch of light gray toning." This type was struck 1919-28 and is not rare. It is lower in fineness than the previous type (KM 104) struck until 1917. It was converted to nickel-brass in 1944. Ceylon, famous for tea, attained its independence in 1948 after the British left India and is now known as Sri Lanka.

Recorded mintage: 750,000 + proofs.

Specification: 1.17 g, 0.550 fine silver, 15.5 mm diameter.
