This specimen was lot 33855 in Heritage sale 3038 (Dallas, January 2015), where it sold for $646.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "British Colony - Victoria Proof Cent 1891 PR65 Brown NGC. A spectacular Proof with pleasing glossy surfaces and undisturbed fields. Significant red in the devices." This type is listed for 1870 and 1890-1900 and is common. Restrikes in silver and gold exist.
Recorded mintage: 1,328,000 plus proofs (a slightly better date).
Specification: 4.90 g, copper, 22.5 mm diameter.
