This specimen was lot 33854 in Heritage sale 3038 (Dallas, January 2015), where it sold for $646.25. The catalog description^[1] noted, "British Colony - Victoria Proof Cent 1890 PR64 Red and Brown NGC. A magnificent Proof, mostly red in color, with appealing reflectivity. Seldom encountered in Proof quality." This type is listed for 1870, 1890-92, 1900-01 and is common. Restrikes in silver and gold exist.

Recorded mintage: 4,940,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 4.90 g, copper, 22.5 mm diameter.
