This copper coin was issued from Barcelona for use there and in Catalonia. It was issued 1836-46 and accompanied by a copper six quartos. In the local currency, three quartos = 1/40 peso. This coin is not common but priced rather low in the SCWC. The last local Catalan issue is a rare six quartos dated 1848, after which regular Spanish coinage was used.
