This specimen was lot 75688 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN. 1/2 Real, ND (1390-1406). Seville Mint. Enrique III. NGC MS-62. This nicely preserved small silver issue boasts a bold central strike with complete legends and good metal quality displaying lovely old cabinet patina. This handsome piece offers a pleasing appearance with good eye appeal and is sure to catch the attention of the quality conscious collector. A RARE type when found in this high state of preservation." Henry III (1379-1406) was king of Castile from 1390 and died in Toledo at the age of 27. His younger brother was Ferdinand I of Aragon (not the one who married Isabella).
