Stack's Bowers 2021 NYINC sale, lot 23305

This specimen was lot 23305 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $960. The catalog description^[1] noted, "CANADA. 200 Dollars, 2010. BRILLIANT PROOF. Commemorates victories of the 2010 Winter Olympics. A brilliant and attractive proof with mirrored fields and frosty devices. Sold with original case of issue and certificate of authenticity #1018." The profits extracted from the manufacture and sale of NCLT's caused the Royal Canadian Mint to scramble for ever more arcane topics, including this one honoring the Vancouver Olympics, one of several issued in 2010.
