Canada 2005 200 dollars

from the Stack's Bowers 2018 ANA sale, lot 22267

This specimen was lot 22267 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $780. The catalog description^[1] noted, "CANADA. 200 Dollars, 2005. PCGS PROOF-69 DEEP CAMEO Secure Holder. Struck to commemorate fur traders. Includes certificate of authenticity serial #0236 (out of 3,669)." The profits extracted from the manufacture and sale of NCLT's caused the Royal Canadian Mint to scramble for ever more arcane topics, including this one honoring the fur traders who explored Canada.
