This specimen was lot 7049 in Ponterio sale 152 (New York, January 2010), where it sold for $322. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. Sovereign, 1911-C. PCGS MS-64." The Ottawa mint struck sovereigns featuring Edward VII 1908-10 and George V 1911-19. The 1911 is the most common date. The sovereigns were superseded in 1912 by ten dollar gold pieces.

Recorded mintage: 256,946.

Specification: 7.99 g, 0.917 fine gold, .235 troy oz AGW.
