This specimen was lot 70274 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $408. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 50 Cents, 1903-H. PCGS AU-53 Secure Holder. Attractive mottled tone with hints of red, gold and blue on the obverse that pop out when tilted in the light." This type is notoriously difficult to find in nice condition despite being minted in respectable numbers 1902-10. This date is scarce above Very Fine.
