This specimen was lot 29471 in Heritage sale 3040 (Chicago, April 2015), where it sold for $5,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "Edward VII 50 Cents 1902 MS65 PCGS, London mint. Superbly struck, with mottled gray patina over full underlying luster with light contact marks. A superior example of this conditionally rare 50 Cent type. Only one example has been certified finer by PCGS, with none certified this nice by NGC." This type is notoriously difficult to find in nice condition despite being minted in respectable numbers 1902-10. This date is scarce above Very Fine.
