This specimen was lot 34440 in Heritage sale 3094 (Chicago, August 2021), where it sold for $4,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "Canada: Victoria 25 Cents 1899 MS65 ICCS, London mint, KM 5. A true gem that sparkles with argent brilliance, unveiling full cartwheel luster that careens across the fields unimpeded by handling to the obverse and reverse faces alike. A complete strike renders precise detail to each raised feature, including a sharp portrait of the Queen that displays full hair strands and fine crown ornamentation. Ex. Victoria North Collection. From the Buckingham Collection." The type was struck in 1858 and 1870-1901 at Heaton and London (shown here).
