Künker sale 294, lot 3577

This specimen was lot 3577 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €4,800 (about US$6,470 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM, Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand, 1780-1806. Dukat 1800, MC. Ausbeute der Harzer Gruben. Harzgold. Gekröntes, 11feldiges Wappen mit Mittelschild und umgehängter Girlande//Wert, Jahreszahl, Münzzeichen und gebogene Schrift in fünf Zeilen. GOLD. Von großer Seltenheit. Attraktives, vorzügliches Exemplar. Exemplar der Preussag Collection, Part I. Auktion London Coin Galleries/Künker 1, London 2015, Nr. 268. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Charles William Ferdinand, 1780-1806, ducat of 1800, for the Harz mines.
