This specimen was lot 5087 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €300 (about US$388 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM, Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand, 1780-1806. Konv.-Taler (Speciestaler) 1783, Braunschweig. R Sehr schön +. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 55, Osnabrück 2000, Nr. 4551. Bei dem vorliegenden SpeciestalerType handelt es sich aufgrund seines seltenen Vorkommens wahrscheinlich um eine Probeprägung. (duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Charles William Ferdinand, 1780-1806, convention thaler of 1783, Brunswick mint. Rare, choice very fine. This piece is so rare as likely to be a pattern.)"
