This specimen was lot 55547 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 24 Mariengroschen, 1782-CES. Zellerfeld Mint. Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand. About Uncirculated Details -- Cleaned. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This is one of two different gulden struck in 1782: KM 1010 (arms/wildman, struck 1781-83, scarce) and KM 1011 (value/wildman, struck 1781-86, fairly common). By this time, the gulden had slipped from two-thirds to half a thaler.
